Thats interesting. Let me tell you from now, Arabic is a very tough language, speaking it might not be that hard(well at least for me, as its my mother tongue), but grammar and structure is very complicated.

Still, if you are persistent enough, i'm sure you'd be able to learn it.

I'm sure theres no shortage of Arabs there, they're like ants, friggin everywhere. What they really value is a white man that speaks Arabic, not another sandman. :p
I know it's very tough to learn, I've taken two night courses just to get a feel of it and if I should do it or not.

And yeah, a white man (or non-arab) speaking Arabic is valued greatly, no one wants another Arab. :D

Selling them to a university is still much less evil than selling them to the military, though.
True.

Thats why i said, its like sales with a conscience. I'm selling people a degree, most of the time, they're people who want to go to the military or the police force(because here, thats the more comfortable choice), the university is in one of the less developed Emirates, so education is not exactly as valued as it is in the more developed Emirates ala Dubai or Abu Dhabi, so sometimes my job is to convince them that doing an academic degree is ultimately better for them in the long term. Hence why i think of myself as "a salesman with a conscience"

You know it.

There are tons of Arabs all over the Western World, so Arab speaking people are not exactly in short supply. However for some reason, a white man speaking Arabic reminds everyone of Lawrence of Arabia or some shit like that :p

People in sales are generally cunts, people who recruit them, far worse...at least in the UK
I'm not really a salesman. Just to set the record straight.

and yes, sales people are generally soulless cunts.

There are a lot of misunderstandings, sometimes random sometimes on purpose, in Denmark between Arabs and Danes. Some parts the differences have escalated to such a level that there's general distrust between the ethnic groups. A white dude who knows Arabic can help bridge those gaps that our terrific VKO government helped create throughout the past 10 years - or so I hope :p

Fred, Arabic isn't that hard to learn. :D
It is. I hate Arabic grammar (na7w) man.

Lots of honor in that Fred, seems like a good and under appreciated line of work. Especially in regard to how the general public think of education.

Thanks man. I rarely feel this appreciated :D

@Fred
Weren't you talking about an MA too? Are you still after that?
Ya, i recently finished. I'll be getting my degree quite soon :)

How important is knowing the Danish language in getting a job there?

International Uni Recruitment people are generally just as dishonest...

Anybody with performance linked pay dealing with people lives is in danger of a soulless existence.

I lived with one and the shit they spun and the genuine UK people turned down for more $ from non-english speaking Chinese student was disgusting, a microcosm of privatised education.

I agree, writing is hard.

But not speaking.
Speaking is obviously not a problem. On the complete contrary, i love speaking Arabic, you feel its a much broader language than English. I just hate "na7w" though. :p

Fred you do know that you're going to be my private tutor when I start, next summer to be exact? Counting on you man :D
Sure thing man, i'm here for you :D
