Even if you get to see the band you like, my issue is that you get crummy outdoor audio and have to wade through 80,000 other people to even see them the size of a postage stamp. But you're right about those shows attracting an audience that seems less engaged with the music and more engaged with themselves and having music as the backdrop. Which is probably why it was never my scene.
I don't think the audio is ever that good at concerts (at least what I've been to). I'd have to say at least in rock/metal, the best I've heard is Metallica but they brought their own custom designed speakers designed for that stage.

I guess that's right but I find it's usually pretty easy to get close to the front or at least a close-ish distance.

Was busy earlier but it's generally slow in the engineering sector here because most people go away on holiday when the kids are off school for six weeks.

Pretty boring.

Only thing worth reporting today about my life is that after I talked with the HR guy at work, my unofficial last "working" day will be Wednesday. I'll just have to clear the final formalities on Thursday and Friday. Can't believe that this is finally getting over. Mixed emotions.
