I just don't see the point, when I could put a down payment on a house instead, or spend it on travel.

One of my best friends bought her wedding dress on eBay and relisted it the next week.

Even the party for me, it's just one day. But then, I'm in the same boat of it probably not happening, and I don't have a big family or many friends to pay for at a party either...
