I always go for Small, which still normally ends up being too big as they're men's shirts, so I really couldn't advise.

Jerseys are trickier, my Italy goalkeeper shirt is almost a dress, whereas my Juve top is shorter and a bit tighter, both men's small. With a t-shirt I think you're pretty safe getting the US equivalent (esp as it's England).
