very few can convince me their job has any real meaning and or impact, it aint nothing but a paycheck, means to an end
That's a purely functional way of looking at it. Now I believe in working to live, and not living to work. But if at 2:14pm every day the only thing that gets you through clock-watching or slitting your wrists is a math exercise on your coming paycheck, you're living a Greek tragedy. That's just serfdom.

wanting to get out of work is serfdom? id say it's the other way around, if you're concerned with your work to the level of rather doing it than doing a million better things then you;re the one whos been subjugated. I dont buy into mixed intentions, if one truly loves what they do theyd do it for free, and that stops being job.
