i'm not an idealist, i just refuse to accept that the way it is now, is the only way it can be. of course we can't secure equal income and equal rights for everyone - but fuck me if we can't feed and stabilize a region with a little effort. Ugh. Ahmed, this sort of smokescreen politics also happens in so-called "civilized" or stable countries. Worse is having a country like Egypt, and you have to think, "We shed all this bloodshed to overturn decades of these clowns for what? To debate why daughters should be sent back to the Dark Ages and have their nookies removed??"
I can sympathize. But don't be too embarrassed. Part of it is the human nature issue: people are riled up and not motivated as much by the head as they are by the heart or guts. As such, a program to promote small business loans and to foster more employment won't receive as visceral a response as something retarded like why women should not enjoy sex as the solution to the world's problems.
