I'm still here Greggo but one of my friends wasn't allowed into Canada (he's a US citizen) because of some BS about a DUI a few years back. But then they let him in but kept his passport and told him to be back at the airport the next morning so they could put him on a flight back to Dallas. They didn't take down any of his info in terms of where he was staying or anything. It was absolute BS. What a dumb f*cking country Canada proved to be.

Not that this improves matters, but more often I encounter rejection situations where they don't even notify you.

One job I got rejected from I only got notified because I called the lady I interviewed with. But at least she was real and was like, "well there wasn't much difference between you and the winner. she has a masters and was willing to work for the same peanuts you were. yeah it's mean, but you were pretty much a price mark, sorry bro".

The only people who eat "American cheese" here anymore are poor and on food stamps.

Cheese in America back 20 years ago was typically the, "What is this? You have orange and you have white?!?" thing. But that's changed a lot. For example, I can get about 5 kinds of Spanish sheep's cheese from the market a couple blocks from my house. (But then I do live in San Francisco, which is unlike the rest of the country.)

We don't do that in the UK to my knowledge . Sometimes something will be called 'American style soft cookies', but rarely....we tend to stick to the given names here.
