Bah. Most of Vietnam is known for mass-produced robusta that I call "disgusta"... stuff the Big 4 swooped in and chemically treated to taste more like arabica coffee and to save a few bucks per pound for its heartier, more productive lot.
There's good robusta out there to be sure (most I've found in India and a few other places -- depends on how they handle it). And Vietnam has some decent coffee, but it's the ridiculous minority there.
As for civet coffee, it just tasted like a sad gimmick novelty coffee to me... nothing to write home about but the story. Here's what I wrote about it on my blog a little over 4 years ago:
