One of my friends is studying English as a language at uni in Poland, I offered to proof read her work for her to help her develop English as an academic language. Most of this stuff is Linguistics, I dont have the first fucking idea about Linguistics. Im having to teach myself this stuff to be able to proof read what shes written. :sergio:
It's the first rule of being a happy student. Never help your friends

No one celebrates Thanksgiving here. Weak ass holiday, our Carnaval Boliviano is the shit, way better than Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is a weak holiday indeed. Whats the point of having a feast if TURKEY is the main dish?
The turkey thing is weird and admittedly a weak part of the program. But I think where the Carnaval Boliviano comparisons fail is that you don't live in a culture where every single holiday is an opportunity to cram religion and/or commercialism down your throats. You get two days off of work, not just one. There are no insipid songs. You are not weighed down with any social obligations to dress up funny, put on a public display, buy people gifts or greeting cards -- it's just getting together, eating and drinking, and telling everybody, "Shut the fuck up and be thankful for what you've got."

Its beauty is in its simplicity. It is the essence of life without all the ridiculous trappings.

I wish you successful campaign - my heart goes out to all those who pretend to enjoy Turkey when they could have real meat instead.
People are determined to have it because it's tradition.

If turkey was nice, we'd eat it at other times of year, too.

But, no - it's just a bigger, shitter version of chicken.

Well, it can't be compared.

I understand how you feel swag and it's the same way (to a lesser extent maybe) here, almost the whole world is americanized with shitty holidays.
