I don't mind turkey, but i want something different. If you have it with Bread Sauce and decent gravy and actually cook the turkey properly there is no reason for it to be dry etc.

Dryness isn't the issue. It's a general lack of flavor. It's no wonder the vegans eat "tofurkey" on this day. Both turkey and tofu have little inherent flavor.

There's a story behind my hatred for Thanksgiving when I lived in The States.

Does it have to do with a large turkey breaking free from its confines and chasing you through a field with high grass, making it impossible to be seen but its distinct screech and foul smell letting you know it was within reach and one slip up would mean that you would fall prey to it in a cruel twist of the prey preying on the preyee?

I am cooking Christmas dinner this year and I have told everyone they have three choices - Lamb, Goose or Turducken. Turducken is currently the favourite.

We are going to try and get some duck for Christmas (duck is very difficult to find here, in fact I've never seen it in the supermarket) or alternatively do a stuffed pork loin. We'd do goose, but that's even more difficult to find than duck.

You can only get the two in waitrose, marks or a butchers here. I tried to get duck a few weeks back and I couldn't find it anywhere, had to walk 4 miles to the waitrose in cardiff to get some.
