I agree with the bolded part btw. It's what made Arab thought so prominent in the middle ages, bringing in hellenistic philosophy certainly contributed in that respect. It's just that your own hubris makes you convinced that if someone questions, that will necessarily result in him denouncing religion. If he hasn't denounced religion, then he hasn't questioned his beliefs.
I think you have me incorrectly pegged as one of those 'you're religious therefore you are a sheep' people. There is a difference between faith and fact, faith by definition cannot be form of proof.
