Nearly true bro, They want to trial it first but Amsterdam is refusing since we get 1 million tourist who come to Amsterdam and smoke their brains out. So the whole country may do this rule. Amsterdam is refusing it :)

For me, drinking lots of water and sleeping helps. This is afterall considering that my hangover is never really even close to what you guys get! :D
I second the drinking water thing. Dehydration is typically one of the biggest issues.

so i am after 8 days of illegality legal again :weee:
Holland has some bizarre sex laws, I swear.

Any new job prospects, Swaggy?

Or just making the most of your time off? Probably not, I guess. Because if you were, you wouldn't be posting on the forum :D
:D Thanks for asking, Buck.

A few. In my profession there are fewer and they take more time to process. But there are fewer of me, so that's not too bad. It's really a lesson in self-discipline, patience, perseverance, and keeping an optimistic attitude. I've been through this a lot in more recent years because I've more often been working for small, start-up companies that are very risky and financially unstable compared to bigger ones. Sure, the big ones can lay somebody off with the drop of a hat too. But lately I've been prefering the small company thing. We'll see how long that lasts. :D

There is a period you go through where you feel the relief of leaving the old job behind, which is a little like graduation. But not long afterwards the next thing kicks in: a pressure where you want to have your next job lined up and uncertainty about when that might be (and where). So when everyone went back to work today in the US after the Monday holiday, it's a mixture of good and not as good when you get up in the morning.

Just going through my photos of the past year....a lot changes. Tomorrow a year ago i broke up with my girlfriend because she was fucking one of my closest friends. Since then I have lost about 60 Pounds/28Kilos, had my hair cut to make me look at least slightly attractive. Been skiing in a mountain range 100 miles from any urban conurbations in Norway and the rest of the shit I posted in the other thread about travelling. Damn I wish I were on the great wall today.

So true. The being without a job part isn't too bad, not at all. The fact that you may not know where to head to next / what to do & when is what tends to bother you.

Good luck though.

Congrats on your improved year, Yarnold! Man, I didn't know the details of that girlfriend story. Run, do not walk, away from that garbage.

Losing all that weight, I bet you probably had some personal identity challenges. One friend I had who lost a ton of weight had to go through a mental process of adjusting to "the new him". It's not uncommon.

The travel bug is whack though. (I like making whack mean so bad it's good. ;) ) I still love it when I go to a new country, almost no matter what it is. You're surely a changed-for-the-better person for it.

Yeah man, I have developed a terrible relationship with food. I am hoping to sort it when i get back home and its only really gotten bad since i got the US and NZ. I was quite bad in China. I always feel like i cant trust the food unless i am personally preparing it from scratch....its weird but im just really aware of all the nasties that go into food around the world. China was MSG, nz was oils and usa is MSG, Trans, HFCS etc. etc.

I have the same issue, i lost about 30 kilos in 4 months in 2009 (gained it due to a year of inactivity with a broken leg), still picky as hell with food.

One of the most interesting treatises I read about living healthy and managing weight is the principle of making your own meals. The more you depend on dining out or the packaged, processed food you buy in markets, the more that's trouble. There's something about the act and the ingredients of making your own meals that apparently correlates the highest with healthy weight balance and health in general.
