I've just ate Indian and had win to compliment it. Weird.
Hey, they grow wine in India you know. Their whites have started to come of age (Sula, etc.), but the reds are catching up.

Funny, considering that winemaking has roots in India that go back to the Persian influence times. (Which is how Shiraz got its name.)

Depends. The best food is usually served in small hotels and restaurants. In fact, some of the road-side stalls have some tasty food for really low price. IMO, the restaurants that attract foreigners and tourists focus more on the ambience rather than the food itself. I'm not saying it's terrible, but you can definitely get better.
