Dude, this was during the height of the UK mad cow disease scare. I went over with a coworker to Le Pont De La Tour (back when it was pretty notable) and shared a Chateaubriand to rub it in his face.

The waiter was a crack-up, because my boss was freaking out about it. And I figured at a 4-star restaurant, I was in pretty good hands. So the waiter tells my boss that the beef is safe because they especially cook it a little longer to kill all the nasties. Totally took the piss.

i agree, but writing my thesis requires analyzing plenty of experimental results I did in the lab, and reading some journals, which requires me being focus. I would rather being focus on my drink alone, and show it all the attention.
Or maybe I just need to work on my drinking technique I guess?

I did my thesis, requiring huge amounts of reading, analysis and ranting, while drinking and it turned out okay, I think.

I never did proof read the thing, because it was too damn long.

I have already written around 140 pages. I have just started my 3rd chapter, and my supervisor proofed read the first two I wrote. He is a scouser, nice one, I didn't know they existed.

Mine was about 15,000 words, as I recall.

My PhD thesis is going to be 5 chapters. The first 2 chapters I wrote are 120 pages, with 19,000 pages. I am already in page #20 in my 3rd chapters, with 3,500 words. So total words until now is 22,500 words, and I am just half way done

Mine was just part of my Honours year.

I wrote most of mine the week before in was due in, because I couldn't be done with spending the whole year on it like I was meant to.

I had to write a thesis for my Honours 4th year project, which I remeber started working on it early that year, and it was around 13,000 words.
This whole writing for the PhD thesis should be done hopefully by next fall. The only scary thing is that one of my committee members is a pain in the ass, and I know he would gave hard time the day I defend it
