So today, I bought my co-workers pizza for dinner. Everyone appreciated it, but this one didn't feel the same way. She kinda felt bad that I bought her dinner. So she tried to pay me back the money. After respectfully refusing it, she bought me chocolates and wished me Happy Holidays!

No, I mean her gesture was nice too.
It's nice, yes. But when I give a treat, I don't expect you to pay me back. That's just like rejection. "I didn't liek the pizza, so here's your money back"! :luckyluke:
i knew a girl like that, she ended up marrying a friend, she would literally throw a fit if anyone tried to get the bill, weiiirrrdooo
So she would always pay the bill at a restaurant? Nice!

Thanks. I mean, even if she had given me the chocolates first, I would've taken it. I just felt bad that she wanted to pay me back with cash.
I am kinda like her too, I don't like when someone tries to spend money on me. Specially if I am not so close with the person. Don't make a huge deal out of this imo, that's her type.

She offered the choclate right after she tried to give him the money. So, it was obvious that it wasn't the odd sweet tooth. She felt obliged to give him something in return, as if she was feeling bad about Shiek paying for a dinner that he wanted to pay for. It's not like Shiek's co-workers held a gun at him so he can pay for the whole thing. He was trying to be nice, and just a lovely gesture. She could have paid for his dinner next time or just got him choclate without trying to give him the money. :)

its ok to decline at first but if the person insists it doesnt make sense to fight over it, women are just crazy
I guess you're right.
They are for sure, but her chocolate gesture wasn't that rude.
Not at all. I love chocolates. :lick:
timing wasn't good though
I don't think so. Anytime's a good time for chocolate.
Why not? Dessert over dinner/lunch sounds good :p
She doesn't seem like the type who'd do that. She's quite reserved.

Oh, she's a Muslim too. FYI.

Well not RIGHT AFTER. There was a gap of about 2 hours to that. I told her I won't accept the cash. Just maybe a favour sometime in the future. I didn't expect it so soon though.

Oh, and by favour, I don't mean a BJ or anything sexual.

I know what you meant, I was kidding. But like I said, there is nothing offending in this at all, I would act the same way as she did with someone I am not close too, it would be ugly to reject joining Sheik's dinner when everyone accept, she felt she should do something in return, paying money wasn't really a good idea thou.

I wouldn't care much to these small details, everyone is different, think/act different, but I totally understand her. I don't know if you Lebanese say it this way, here they woould "ma bheb shil mnniyet haddan". Do you know what that means?
