I've never lived there, but Burke's probably right.

I used to live alone for a while though,(kinda with my gf) and the rent was cheaper ($400 or so) and the building had a pool and everything. :D
I have a friend that's living in Bogota and she said prices aren't that cheap. Your rent is cheaper probably because you don't live in the capital!
Isha? But her name is Elisa, I think.
Ohhh

I remember her  She's been MIA for years though
 What the hells does that even mean?

Is it like a second Drivers license where you have to suck dick without making more than 8 minor or any fatal errors to pass?

Not really. Its different than what you're used to, doesn't mean its fucked up.
It's not as though you are talking about driving on the other side of the road. You are talking about absolute sexism in a society where there is an admission of difference between the two sexes, something that obviously, on anything but a physical level, doesn't exist.

Look, it doesn't have to be a society of genocide in order to be seen as fucked up. I've never fucked a guy, but I'm pro-gay rights, pro-gay, and that isn't fucked up, yet it's different.

I can understand if people are culturally opposed and wouldn't do it themselves by making it against the law seems very extreme.
A law that is compatible with the population's culture, values, norms and beliefs. When they made these laws, they made laws that would fit the country's people, they didn't expect it to fit other people(Westerners for example).

Its seen as an obscene thing to have sex outside marriage here, consequently there is a law to prevent such a thing from happening here. Laws were made for the UAE people not for anyone else. Overwhelming majority of the Emirati's probably agree with it. They're happy with it, who are you to tell them to change it?

I'm not telling them to change it, I'm saying it's wrong, and you should think it is too.

And I have a serious problem with sex out of wedlock too.

But if the people aren't married, then it shouldn't matter if they bang or not.

So if someone has sex outside marriage and gets caught over there, he/she goes to jail?
Not really. In practice, it happens all the time.

Even two people of opposite sexes, live together all the time in Dubai. In practice, the law that prohibits two people of opposite sexes living together isn't really enforced(in Dubai), especially when it comes to foreigners(non muslims)

    Or gets stoned I think
    No, that doesn't happen here.

What if I came over and fucked a girl, but was not married and she wasn't?
Well if you keep it to yourselves nothing will happen. If you go to the authorities and tell the you had pre maritial sex, you'd probably get charged.
