I'm glad you said that.

I agree, and again it is why citizenship should not be handed out so easily. I could easily have got a Scottish passport, and got all the benefits you were entitled to as a Scottish citizen, but i would have felt nothing towards Scotland, and i might not even live there and consequently would only be having the passport for my personal benefit. While you, and your family have been there for generations, have stuck by your country in good and bad and probably love your country too. Is it fair, that me and you get equal benefits then?
Benefits?

You just have to be black and illegal and your free to claim anything you want off Central Goverment.

Were you born in Scotland?

If you were, I'm not going to say you shouldn't be entitled to Scottish citizenship.

Are you a race pimp?

No, it isn't. But I hate race pimps like Chris Matthews.
You're the one mentioning race. I could care less about the color of a Mexican-American's skin. It's not just "colored" immigrants that have been treated like crap.

And my question was referring to the fact that he's waving the flag and catching praise. Not his race.

A flag represents a people. Like Fred said, he loves Lybia and would go back if it didn't suck there.

A Mexican-American may love Mexico or feel a bond to it or to the people and hate the government. Don't just assume because he's waiving a flag he hates America. He might and he might not.
But I thought this was a protest against the "racist state of America"?

Sure, some might waive the Mexican flag because they think it represents their heritage. But again, that's like me waiving the Adams County flag or the Stars and Stripes celebrating the fact that I'm white. They had their race and heritage before Mexico was even a country.

I simply dislike these individuals. Always will.

If you were, I'm not going to say you shouldn't be entitled to Scottish citizenship.
Supposing i were?

I personally wasn't(I said before i was, so that i'd see what people would think if i was), but i moved there when i was a few months old, so in terms of how i feel about the country, it wouldn't really matter, because i don't remember Libya at all, i was born there and spent 3-4 months there before moving to Scotland.

Most of my brothers and sisters were born in Scotland though, and they feel the same way i do.

and like i said before, i know loads of people with American citizenship, British citizenship and the likes. They only have it for their personal benefit, nothing else. None of these people care for the US, or the UK or anything, and probably wouldn't care less if it got blown off the map, as long as their passport stayed intact and they benefit from it, they want nothing else to do with said countries

It's not that simple man. Say you grew up in Adams; you went to kindergarten in Adams, you learned how to ride a bike in Adams, your first kiss was in Adams, you played football in Adams, you loved corner bakery in Adams, etc. Then one these thugs go and kill your dad and you're forced to flee to a different place. You appreciate the fact that you received haven in this new place; place to live, to work, opportunity, etc. but that doesn't take away from the fact that your heart lies in Adams where you grew up and where everything was familiar and made sense to you (your world i.e.). You have every right to feel pride of that even if Adams was a shithole.

ps: I'm not talking about any flag waving in protest of something.
But that flag represents the folks that drove me out of Adams County. I would still have feelings for the area, but that flag would represent the corrupt officials that made me leave.

erm not really?

Are you saying that our(Libyan) flag, represents Gaddaffi and his peeps?

Ya he wishes, to me it represents my land, my people, my ancestors, the place where my great grandparents shed their blood to fight of the Italian occupiers.

I'll always have a Libyan flag with me for that reason.

In your opinion, in which category would i fall?

I don't really feel canadian yet i have a canadian passport.

On another note i wouldn't care if my original country gets blown off the map.

Woah, you don't care about any country do you then? :D

Canada is the country that gives out passports easily. I know a lot of people that immigrate to Canada just to get passports. I don't think they should be giving out passports as easily as they do.

I never said anything about a racist state of America. (race in America is whole other issue)

I said he was probably protesting an oppressive Arizona law. A law that allows searches on people without warrants is indeed oppressive and not to mention stupid. The Patriot Act is also oppressive. Many things are oppressive, but oppression does not need race to exist.

Well no one refers to you as German-American. To be honest if you (people in general) see a fellow looking like our flag waving friend here the first word to come to mind is probable hispanic, mexican, latino etc. Certainly not plain old American, it might one of the before-mentioned prefixes and then American. So it's almost as if we (the established citizens) force them to bond to their culture. It happened with the Irish, blacks, Poles, Italians, etc in the past, so this really shouldn't be so surprising.

It's fine to think however you wish about the flag waving fellow. Truth be told I don't particularly appreciate US NT home games turning into away matches, but I understand it.

That said, saying things like "Well if he's unhappy and wants to make a point he should go back to Mexico" is pretty much the equivalent of telling a cancer patient that doesn't like his chemo to shoot himself in the head. Especially, if he's a citizen and has the right to gripe. However, confused or silly that gripe may be.

@Gabriel, though i think the fact that my country was occupied just a few decades ago might be a factor as to why i feel so strongly about it. Its hard not to feel strongly about land that your grandparents and great grandparents shed their blood to defend and liberate it.

I get this more than the other reasons you gave.

Its tough to appreciate your country until you really have a reason to.
