I think one of the larger issues lies in the lax employment laws in this country. If we don't tighten those first it won't matter how many we deport off the streets.

One of my friends got paid 3000$ for a month long internship at CAL.

Well here most schools require you to do an internship before you graduate, so companies are required by law to pay the interns (a misery)(the government pays half of the fees)

During my second one the company could not have paid me, but most companies pay they interns so they can have money to buy lunch

I wish I could have had an internship like yours BTW, both of mine were 8-5 jobs and I was required to do a bunch of stuff...
