Nope, and I don't want one if it has to do with financial terrorism at major investment banks. Not that they would hire me anyway.

I haven't played competitively for a few years now. Played some in college but then my favorite sport became binge drinking.

Getting my body in shape again for soccer is one of my goals this summer.

Yeah, for the moment. Don't want to deal with that much longer though.

At my department we would get people coming every once in a while from Abn Amro talking about how they use programming in their financial analysis. The financial stuff was pretty dull, but they're pretty badass coding wise.

Yeah, they write programs that can make 5,000 different trades in under a second, called high-frequency trading. It's pretty cool stuff until you realize that this gives the big banks a huge advantage and allows them to actually "front run" the market, creating a disadvantage to regular traders like me. Some of these banks have servers right next to the exchange as well, so they get to see everything before everybody else.

These HFT programs are partly what caused the crash a few weeks ago.

It's going to be hell here.

Weather is fucked up anyway. 30 degrees 5 years ago wasn't that bad, but now it feels like hell.

We'll be hitting 40 this year very often. It's like in the oven.

40 is way too hot, 30 is still hot to me, I like a nice 23.

Well, it is pretty cool to listen to the banter in the commodity trading pits which are still used today.
