They severely underestimated the last storm. Had predictions of 12-22 inches all the way until Friday evening. If the public is going to prepare, the local mets need to stop lowballing.
Oh fuck. The low could bomb out to around 960 mb off the coast of Delmarva and the perennial underestimaters the TWC has our region in the 12+ category already. Storm track modeling still appears to be trending more Southerly.

Folks on some Wx boards are really getting scared of the prospects of 12+ in and around DC, to the brink of freaking out. They said that most of the suburbs still not have been cleared out in and around their neighborhoods, and that rescue vehicles can't get around. Another foot would send the DC area into total lockdown for days.

Even the latest GGEM has the low bombing to 976.

Fuck, I better run to the store.

whats the forecast for NYC area, on one hand i want it to snow coz i am going skiing this weekend but i also obviously want the roads to be clear
Hard to say for NYC. You will receive some snow, certainly 6 inches, but there is the possibility of more than a foot. If that coastal low does hug the coast, which in the latest model runs appears to do, then you'll get pounded with blizzard-like conditions.

There will be a sharp cut-off to the precip again so further North in the Catskills it will be fine. Getting out of NYC will be a disaster.

Which resort you heading to?
