Actually the reason I go everyday now is I'm doing a language course and it helps me concentrate on what I'm hearing. When I'm home I tend to zone out.
We don't have language courses here in bumfuck. Though hanging out at Wal-Mart after 7:00pm will learn you some Spanish.

I don't know how quality they are. I'm at a university and I'd say less than 7 percent of the population speak a second language fluently.
Well as with walks there are probably some people who think they are super cool. Purely because noone else seems to think so. I've met some USians who are completely obsessive about learning as many languages as they can.

And there certainly are lots of courses and tapes for that so there must be a market. Doesn't affect the general population much, no.

Time to go turn in this term paper proposal for Africa class. Comparing what historians of the 1920's and 1930's thought of Liberia to what current historians think. Basically addressing the main question of "what happened to dem boys".
