Shame, it's fun.

Do you have licenses like level 1 then level 2, etc.?
It depends what the levels mean.

We get a provisional licence by just doing a written test on the rules of the road and theory of driving. (that's what I'm doing on Monday).

Once you have one of those you can do an actual driving test to get a full licence.

The difference between the 2 is that the full licence lasts for much longer (10 years) and when you are driving with a provisional you're supposed to have someone in the car with you who holds a full licence (luckily for me this law isn't really enforced).

It's kind of the same here. You take a written test then you have your G2 which means you can drive only with someone that has over 5 years experience.

After that, you can go to driving school (20 hours in-class, 10 in-car), although it's not required, you only have to wait 8 months instead of a year to get your G1, which allows you to drive on your own but there's a new rule that you can only have one person in your car after midnight.

Then a year later you take a highway test and you get your G, and you're good.

I currently have my G1, driving on your own is a good feeling. If your tests are anything like ours, you should pass no problem. Goodluck!

You better be talking about the system. I can't tell you how many horrible drivers we still have despite this seriousness.
Yes & thats because some folk buy their licences.Adrian is extremely naive in thinking that they dont take bribes in first world countries.Poor schmucks like me had to do it the old fashion way while cheating assholes get their licences in a day.

Later Burkem.

In Ireland, you used to only be able to buy licences. There was no test.
