Sorry to hear this my man.... seriously, I could never understand someone using drugs just because he/she passing through problems or want to enjoy it..... i've had hundreds of personal problems in my life never thought a single time of smoking let alone taking drugs.... Person should how and when to make a decision.
I had a really good friend of mine in school try and kill herself by overdosing on painkillers. Her family was really messed up: mother beat by dad, sister turned to prostitution and "heroin" and my friend was the older sister so often times we had to go search for the younger sister. This girl was also my roommate in college and I still keep in contact with her. But when things started to turn ugly I noticed her change and tried to be around her as much as I could. One day after soccer practice I came home and saw her bedroom light on and the sink running. I walked in to say hello and saw her sprawled on the floor with hundreds of her depression/painkiller drugs all over and her in convulsions. I will never forget that day as long as I live. I called Poison Control first (and the alerted 911) and from that point on until the EMS arrived I held her in my arms praying that she would pull through. I remember seeing just the white of her eyes rolled back in her head, her body shaking and me frantically trying to do what the Poison Control medic was telling me all the while praying that I don't do the wrong thing and end her life. I saved her life that night and 5 years later she is happily married to another friend of mine, financially strong, clean and on top of that her mother is happily remarried and her sister clean and getting ready to graduate college. Someone was watching over us that night. I say us because in hindsight I was calm, somehow relaxed that everything was going to be alright and that somehow her body hung on and fought the onslaught of medication long enough to get her to the hospital.
Sorry Buerke for your loss. As he said guys, the shit is real and if you know ANYONE that uses be the bigger man (or woman) and step in. There is nothing wrong with pointing someone in the right direction. I guess the point of my post was to show that there can be happy endings but you need to be the strong ones because these individuals need help.
:edit: I haven't spoken of that night to anyone ever. She never asked me to not say anything, I just knew it would be best to leave it be. But as buerke said, sometimes its best to speak up when your voice is needed most. No one in my family knows that, the only other person that knows of that night is her Husband. God Bless you all.
