Not sure what you mean by American quality, but we do have to start producing our own goods again. Saving and investment is the key with entrepreneurs creating ground breaking products. Perhaps this is where alternative energy intervention and farming becomes the key to breaking out of this funk.
I was talking nonsense. Trying to have fun with Andries and Andy. Spouting typical pro-American party line nonsense. American quality is basically non-existent these days.

With the shape of our current infrastructure and the situation we find ourselves in concerning energy these days. There is certainly room available for innovation of alternative energy and growth for private constructions firms.

Our economy has been destroyed and the ship is sinking. Remember, we're only about a year into this. Not to mention our liberties are being destroyed with every passing bill, but nobody seems to care about that. It will come back to haunt us.
You said the country is destroyed. It's not. We're in a hole and we will come out of it eventually.

My bad. But it's the kind of stuff you hear a lot, so it wasn't easy to detect.

Our economy basically rolled back 8 years of fudged numbers based on bogus, non-existent growth. We're really stagnating rather than anything else. Not great, but it's not exactly time to find a good cave and wear our best barrels. And outside of the slowly eeking economies of China, India, and maybe some of Brazil (forget Russia) right now, stagnation isn't looking so bad by comparison.

Civil liberties ebb and flow. The equilibrium will shift for a while under Obama until the next terror attacks get people to reintroduce McCarthyism again. But overall, this is nothing like life under the House Un-American Activities Committee of the 1950s.

Don't worry about it. I just wanted to see your reaction. I knew what Andy's would be.:D

As for Osama bin Laden, I don't care what we do with him, but don't let him in a room with me. Something about that guy just pisses me off.

We have enough houses and buildings though. That's the last thing we need right now.

I'm about to head to the store for some needed food.
By construction firms, I meant roads, bridges, dams, levees, you know infrastructure. Farming and alternative energy are great but infrastructure can provide jobs too. And right now provide a lot more jobs.

Civil liberties have actually been deteriorating for a while now, even before W. From what I have seen from Obama thus far, which is nothing much, is more talk about taking away certain rights.

btw did you guys hear about the new IL governor
Nah, what's going on?
