Well, isn't that a little strange? He apparently played 166 matches over 6 years for Argentinos before, what you say is his beloved club, Boca finally thought he might be worth getting? Diego of all people? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. And then he joins his beloved team for only a single season before he flies out? Finally, at the very end of his career he spends 2 seasons with Boca.

Pardon me if I find this counter intuitive, but how does a diehard Boca fan who is widely recognized as the best player in the history of Argentina not have more clout than to play only 71 matches for his team?

because he had to go make himself some money. If an opportunity come up offering you 50 fold what you re making right now you d jump on it no matter. Obviously if you re talking impact, yes he didnt have as much as a Roman but still his name is still sang every week in the bombonera.

Doesn't add up, dude. If the most sought after thing in my life is to play for Juve, and I first endure 6 seasons with Genoa, I'm gonna want to spend more than a single season at Juve. If I flee, that means either a) they can't afford to keep me (but then Genoa did for 6 years) or b) I didn't really want Juve all that bad.

There are other possible explanations.
- He was a late bloomer. er...
- Boca didn't want him. er...
- What he loves about Boca is to watch, not participate.

no he was up until this year the youngest player to play in the progessional league. His price tag went from 1 mil to 5 in about 12 months since joining boca(and the exposure). And it's not fleeing, it's like i said jumping on the opportunity that might not be around tomorrow, especially for someone who lived through poverty.
