I prefer a combination of black and silver.

Vinyl huh? I've been thinking about that for a couple of years now but this project costs a lot of money.
I know, that's why I first bought a solid amp + CDP, vinyl requires much more investing(additional phono pre-amp, turntable, cartridge, etc.). But you can still find good and cheap stuff if you buy vintage, you just have to buy a new cartridge for it and it's as good as new. Plus, there are some new manufacturers that make excellent turntables for decent amount of money, like Pro-ject.

But the sound that vinyl gives is worth all that and I'm glad it's coming back into fashion. Vinyl is definetly my next investment.

Then all is left for you is to find disks.

I would like to get all my Trojan Records that I have on mp3 on vinyl.

That's some pretty good stuff, I don't see the need to change it any time soon unless you get some serious cash influx or you're simply unsatisfied with the sound, which I doubt. Doesn't matter if it's 10 years old, this stuff made to last for a lifetime. ;)
yeah , i'm satisfied with it , but i'm the kind of guy who likes to buy new and improved stuff , i probably won't change anything for couple of years more but as soon as i stand on my two own feet (job and get a place of my own to live) buying new sound system will probably be first thing to do , can't help it , i'm just a sucker for those things

You know something's wrong when two of your countrymen talk and you have to google every 2nd word they use.
Vlatko, you're a freak. Alen, you're an even bigger one.
Jack, you're also a freak but for another reason. I'll PM you.

:D

I actually can't wait to BUY vinyl records, but I can't say the same for CD's. The way new CD's are produced now is awful, sound quality wise.

Me too, I've been wanting a Hi-Fi system all my life. Some people could spend a fortune on a car, I could spend just as much on audio equipment. I just don't have that kind of money.

You know what they say; being an audiophile is the most expensive hobby you can have. :D

You're just old. :p Which is strange because only for that, you should be familiar with some of the terms used here. You lived more in the vinyl era than me or Alen. :D

I was contemplating purcashing Technics too; but I guess that'll have to wait till summer at least.
Everything depends on what you want to buy. If it's Hi-Fi seperates, there are a lot of options now just as good, even better than Technics; like NAD, Cambridge Audio, Rotel, Marantz, Harman-Kardon, etc. Speakers from KEF, Wharfedale, Bowers & Wilkins, etc. Lots of options are out there, but Technics is still the Alfa and Omega of turntables but they cost a lot.

At the end, the brand doesn't matter much, what's important is the sound. Be sure to sit down and listen before you buy. ;)

The real difference is you're a more familiar kind of freak. Audiophiles have been around for decades, whereas computer geeks became a publicly known subculture probably in the 90s.
I'm actually a wannabe audiophile, I lack the resources to be a true audiophile. :p

There's nothing wrong with being a freak. :D
