i think i finally figured out how to get my native resolution issue on Vista fixed. i did find out the problem is with the EDID of the monitor, and i MAY have to rewrite it with a correct one.

and all this on the day when i might actually sell it to a co-worker!

btw, i cant get to fix the monitor. the solution involved writing new EDID into the EEPROM, but the EEPROM was write-protected!!! so cant do anything but sell it.
