Dude I just read on wikipedia that this phone supports CDMA. Is the CDMA version available in the US yet? How much does the phone cost anyway?
the phone is strictly for t-mo until further notice. and i haven't heard about it working on cdma networks but i'll take your word for it.

unfortunately the phone is only available for pre-order for t-mo customers until the end of october then they will open it for the general public. it will run around $199 with a 2yr contract

Laterz.

the new t-mo 3G phone which was released today

its a collaborative effort by t-mobile/google/htc

officially the phone is called the t-mobile G1. the phone is made by htc and is called the 'dream'

and google is on top of things with their revolutionary open source OS debut on the handset called 'android'

this shit is ill and will blow apple and its iphone out of the water
Only just because it's probably more "business friendly."

How good is T-mobil treating ya? I've always ranked them below Sprint, Verizon, and ATT. Maybe it's because their service in MD isn't all that and not to mention they target teenagers in their ads so it's always given me the impression they're meant for parents who want to limit the phone use of their children.

no way dude. i've been with them for 8 years now (way back when they were called voicestream and then bought by deutsche telecom). they have THE best customer service and signal. they were the first pure GSM provider in north america and retain that title IMO. AT&T is just a gimmick company that switched over from CDMA or TDMA (i forgot which). they rely on marketing sha-bangs and high priced phones over signal/customer service quality. T-Mobile is the best service in terms of price, signal and features. and i really don't care about their phones because you can get any GSM handset unlocked to work on any GSM network just like i had my iphone a few months back. make the switch dude, its worth it.

T-Mobile is good in urban areas, but as far as complete coverage area it's pretty average.
