Mandatory vacation?

This is why the US laughs at the rest of the world.

We work more hours and get less vacation, then Francers and Wopheads come here and wonder why they get fuckin' fired for working 20 hours a week, and after two weeks of that want four weeks of "holiday".
We also buy way more "medication" than the rest of the world.

I haven't had a vacation in 7 years. I think it would be swell to take one.

Mr. Beck, we have rules that are not open to interpretation, personal intuition, gut feelings, hairs on the back of your neck, little devils or angels sitting on your shoulder. We're all very well aware of what our orders are and what those orders mean. They come down from our Commander in Chief. They contain no ambiguity.

Mr. Beck, I've made a decision. I'm Captain of this boat. NOW SHUT THE FUCK UP!

Problem is, you don't get more money...

Europe just works less. But you're right, Americans are the lazy ones.
Why is working less a bad thing, then? You have less money to spend, but then you have more time to do stuff that wasn't assigned to you.

Unless your spare time is consumed with "being a bum" then whatever you do in your spare time costs you money, by definition.
Okay, suppose your income is proportional to your working hours. Work 40 hours, get 40. Work 60 hours, get 60. Would you rather work 20 more hours a week to have 50% more money? I wouldn't. It's true you need money to live, but I don't have a terribly expensive lifestyle, and I would rather keep the free time I have now than work more and have more money. Time is more valuable.
