Man, I have no idea if this job is for me and it's killing me. The scheduling is the most retarded thing, won't know what shift you work until about 1pm the day before, BUT you can retire with a pension after 23 years. I'm anxious as fuck right now that I'll make the wrong decision about whether to keep this or not.
23 years?

Assuming that the pension isn't syphoned through fraud or mismanagement?

Take Door #3, my friend. Because even if it's a donkey, it will be a better ride.

Don't do things you don't like for 23 years.

Your life could be over tomorrow.

No need to get anxious, dawg.

If it's absolute shite, just find another job. You don't want to be miserable for 23 years just to retire early.

leave. There’s plenty of great jobs out there, and pension is not guaranteed. One of my old jobs had pension and then got rid of it

City job, so the pension is 100% secured. Workload isn't bad, but the hours and scheduling are horrendous. I have no desire to ever work midnight to 8 am ever again.
Don't quit. Use your discontent/discomfort to figure a way to make the money you want elsewhere. This really could be the blessing(pressure) you need to figure your shit out, but above all keep an open mind and stay result driven.

Well I'm still working my previous job at the same time and it pays a lot more, I only took this one for the pension and benefits to begin with.

I get you. My point is you should use this pressure that you can't generate on your own. Especially since it's not a do or die thing but more one of discomfort, but it would deliver the same results. It's not actually that bad to wake up hating your life and channel that energy to achieve greater things. Quitting or stagnating is much worse imho.

It is incredible that in an area the size of my couch you guys have audibly distinct accents every arm length.
In countries like Belgium or Italy it's not just a distinct accent. Sometimes the dialect is so strong you have no idea what someone who lives 50 km from you is saying. There's a standard Dutch or Italian everyone gets, but the dialect can be a different language entirely.
