Sounds like a bleak situation. You need the Chinese to inject capital into your country. If they can do it in Africa they can certainly boost economic growth in your country. Although, in 30-40 years when the loans come to mature you would bee annexed by China. But by then much of the world would already be part of the peoples republic :pado:
Oh we already do loads of deals with the Chinese.

Only they are corrupt enough to agree to do overpriced (x2-3 the actual price) multimillion projects so that Bolivian government officials can keep stealing from the state.

All those refining plants and other chits don't produce anything at all.

Are you still with Sharon? How's the prospect of spousal sponsorship looking?

We have dying natural gas reserves. Exploration has been shit because investing is not attractive in Bolivia as the state keeps most of the profits. Several big oil companies are leaving the country.

And of course, the state owned company is simply incompetent and lacks the know how to do the exploration itself.

We're fukked

Also we have the biggest lithium reserves in the world but we don't and won't exploit it :baus:
Sorry to hear the scum won.

The lithium reserves will be huge in the future as electric vehicles continue to grow. Lots of equity stake going into lithium plays so Bolivia would need to intelligently create some deals, but if the new government is bad as you say they are they will surely squander it for everyone but a few government folks.

Unfortunately the MAS has a track record of massive corruption.

We are already falling behind in the lithium race. Chile is far ahead. Why would anyone want to invest in a country with no principle of legal certainty anyway. The government can fuck you in the ass whenever they want.

Gonna have to convince Sharon to marry me out of pity.
Isn't Sharon like the UK equivalent of Karen?

Personally, for all the hyped-up talk about technological disruption these days, cars seem like a dead, old 134 year-old idea to me. The electric car hype is just taking that 134 year-old idea and slapping mobile phone parts on it. I don't see that as radical revolution as much as keeping the status quo. Like a steam engine train fitted with a giant battery.

The only radical thing in mobility is that we now live in an era where people can afford not to own a car.

That's her actual name. Sharon.
