They work hard, but there's plenty of money. Plus if you could get some equity out of it, all the better.

Just in time for all the Brexit fun. You can't get into another EU country first and then go there? I have no idea how it works.

Interesting article but no, I don't think it's possible to do that unless I became a EU citizen but then brexit is gonna happen.

I applied to scholarships for master's degrees I don't even want to do but haven't heard back. And paying for a master's in the UK is out of the equation for me. It would require an obscene amount of money and destroy everything that I've built so far.

I'm afraid that our relationship is just meant to die because of logistics.

Bummer bro. But that sounds like the job search life to me though. Hang in there. If it's meant to be, it will happen.

Yeah, I'm kind of helping their cause here... even if I am taking advantage of a tax program that kind of makes my being here a little criminal relative to the locals who have lived here all their lives.

Who would have thought that I would have paid far less taxes than the US in a socialist country. :D

Don't you have Portuguese ancetsry though? Or was that your wife?

It hasn't been rejection, so that's something at least.

True. But I swear I've seen chickens on the 14 Mission owl service bus overnight in the Mission District.
Speaking of Bay Area degeneracy, I was at a sanwhich shop in Livermore today and a woman approached me telling me how she was not optimistic for the future. It started out somewhat casual and then went into how the "energy" had changed today, astrologers had predicted it because the planets were aligned in a manner they hadn't been since 1961 and this was indicative of a troubled decade ahead, that there would be a mass American revolution on both sides, and the truth would be revealed in the media on both sides (she kept going on about "both sides")

I said somewhat sarcastically back to her "yea totally that's why i've put all my money into silver and shorting the S&P 500" and she exploded. Got mad as fuck that i wasn't taking her seriously told me that investing is a waste of time but astrology is not something to take lightly.

I enjoy antagonizing crazy people too much, i should move before i get stabbed.

My wife is a dual US/Portugal citizen. But even she might be eligible for a lower tax bracket as part of their financial incentives to bring back the Portuguese diaspora.

That is such old school Bay Area though. Before the money-grabbing autistic fooks flooded the market and took over, the area was more rampant with doped-up, crystal-hugging alien abduction refugees whose sense of reality is somewhere this side of Gary Busey.

I’d appreciate the nostalgic flashback if I were you. Though “flashback” could be a trigger word for her.

Why are there no feminists in Japan?

Because they hunt whales over there
OK, I kind of had to laugh.

Like what Lenin Moreno, the Ecuadorian president, said recently... the definition of harassment depends on how ugly the guy is.

They locked me away at the mental ward.

I mean, visiting grandpa.
Feeling left out by all the Wuhan novel coronavirus paranoia?

China should travel ban Americans: you're far more likely to die from American gun violence, and they're bringing that over with them on planes.

A lawyer was supposed to send a contract that I signed to the other party’s lawyer. I couldn’t get hold of him for 3-4 days, and finally when I did I asked about the status. His reply was totally lawyerly: I do not have it back, whichIt’s technically true if he hasn’t even sent it to them yet. Since I was sure he hasn’t even sent it yet I asked him whether he did, and after 10 minutes, which I’m sure he used to email those, this lazy bum replied “yes”.
Earlier in the day his assistant told me she “cannot confirm or deny”, whether they have the contract. Whatever the fuck that’s supposed to mean.
