meh pretty sure thats more about a genetic pre-disposition. I don't think anyone can definitively say (psychology lol) that is caused in healthy people by Marijuana so much as it can be brought to the surface by Marijuana or a variety of other things in people who are already at risk, particularly.

I have no family history of mental illness, pretty sure I can smoke all the weed I want and not end up bipolar.
Yes, do you have any data to back up that statement?

Oh well I think there is some truth to what Seven is saying.

But someone who is vulnerable to that could experience that same lapse through a variety of stressors or enviromental triggers. To frame it as being caused by Marijuana is dishonest.

Fucked up my knee badly while playing basketball. Hopefully I can get an MRI tomorrow to see what's wrong. I can't put any pressure on it at all, and Tuesday was going to be a good leg day too, I felt it :sigh:

I never heard this before, can you direct me to the study that explores this

One, psychology is not a science, two this article is beyond misleading, every time they quote a 'real' scientist is to describe physiological phenomena and not a correlation with thc.

I personally don't care about either position, never tried mj and have zero interest in it, but i would like to see solid data backing that statement.

I quoted the wrong person, that was meant for @Seven

There's a lot of this stuff online too.

Of course you need a genetic predisposition, Kyle. If it caused schizophrenia in everyone, no one would use it at this point.

But not everyone knows they have that genetic predisposition.

For me personallly this doesn't mean it has to be banned outright for everyone though. But a bit of caution might be wise.

Psychology might not be a science according to you, but schizophrenia and psychosis are very real things. I don't know if you've ever personally encountered a schizophrenic, but I can assure you it's not just someone acting a bit funny.

Those are pathologies, their existence in no way gives credence to psychology as a bona fide science, and when you do have those conditions you go to an actual doctor.

No, but psychiatry is. I don't trust psychologists either, but psychiatrists (at least in Belgium) are actual doctors. That is to say they are md's who went on to specialise in psychiatry.

If we're talking about stuff like personality disorders and all, I have serious reservations about that. I think most of those are really just fancy ways of saying someone is an asshole.

Anyway I don't want to debate about that really, because I feel like we more or less have the same opinion on this.
