But what's the alternative? If people want to change gender, knowing the limitations of the procedure and the questionable result, then who am I to tell them no. It's difficult when you're not able to relate to this kind of thing, but I don't see how labeling being transgender a mental illness or forbidding sex change operations is going to help the individuals who feel a need to change sex.
Just to make things clear: I don't necessarily want to label it a mental illness or prevent them from having a sex change. Obviously they do have a disorder though. Part of the public seems to believe it is mental, part seems to think it is physical. I agree that it might be better to label it a physical disorder.

Labeling it a physical disorder makes more sense, I agree.

Anorexic pre or post their diet? Just like you would ask a a transgender pre or post their procedures.
But again, that analogy simply doesn't add up. Part of the mental disorder anorexia is that the patient believes she (I know, I said she) is fine. This is not the case with transgenders.

Huh they don't believe they are fine pre diet, hence the diet. Also this physical disorder thing is joke, i want to fly but my body is not equipped for it ergo i have a physical disorder.

I can't remember if it was my idea or not. piotrr definitely made it though, so he probably deserves the credit. :D
Yeah, I think he was probably just one of several people with dolphatars at that point. :D Some picked the avatars themselves, some not. RUS having to use this as his avatar was sweet. :touched:

They believe they are fine during the diet, which is obviously not the case.

Anyway I think the debate is futile. It's pretty obvious that we will be seeing more and more transgenders and that the medical techniques will be better and better. Perhaps with gene therapy or whatever (I'm not a medical expert), we'll eventually make them 100% the sex they want to be. It doesn't really matter what we call it now.

Do you think having boobies would ever bore you (from having/touching) them? I feel like I'd play with them all the time. All the time.

Shitty weather. But I'll go out for a cup of coffee and enjoy the sight.
I can't imagine it ever would. You know how people sometimes ask what would be the first thing you'd do if you were a man/woman for a day? They always come up with some stupid shit, while the answer is so friggin' obvious: we'd all masturbate.

Reality has to be altered one way or another in these convos :D

Why take the conversation to an undetermined future with theoretical solutions, nobody knows how these things will evolve either culturally or scientifically
We obviously have a pretty good idea. It's not likely that transgender rights are going to turned back and as far as we know medical science has always progressed. The only thing that's undetermined is how fast all of this will happen.
