Tough news

Any particular reason he decided to do that?
That's absolutely bizarre. Super rich kid (millionaire father kind of rich, do lots of charity tho) with CV that makes every personnel manager's face explode. Was going to be a career diplomat and just one day before his suicide he got elected into some high profile committee by a landslide and he was like super happy because he had been running for it for the entire year. Super ambitious kid, no family troubles. lots of friends, lots of success.
But there is always a dark side to ppl that you never know or know too late. Family will dig into his stuff and try to find more.

just got informed that one of the few school friends I stayed in touch with fucking killed himself. His sister told me.

WTF he was quite an awesome dude I'm gonna miss him

Godspeed
Man...! I'm sorry to hear that. My condolences.

On a happier note, I've been importing more products and in bigger quantities from China. I'm already making 5 times my salary (which is absolute shite anyway).

I'll have to make a tough decision in the near future, whether to quit my job and work full time on my biz or stay at my job and strop growing my business.

true.

obviously i didnt know him, but do you think he became that person
because he wanted to, or because it was what the family
expected him to be and he couldnt cope with the pressure anymore?

sorry for speculating @lgorTudor . just searching for a reason.

$#@!. i'm sorry man.
it always sucks, especially since it looks
like it was coming out of the blue.

And afterwards you see patterns in everything he/she said and did, which "lead" to the suicide.
It's just so weird that somebody as energized as him would kill himself. I take it as a lesson that no matter whats we will never know what's going inside a person.

His parents hinted they'd rather have him slow down and find a gf and chill more. Maybe some event occurred that I don't know about. For the last 6 months he has been living in Berlin, being engaged in a shitload of organizations. Didn't seem to have an awful lot of free time. Possibly didn't want to quit any of his commitments to not lose face and the pressure killed him

Well, I knew someone who did it November last year. It's weird and you will always speculate. The guy, I knew, lost his father as a kid. We knew it still bothered him, but, from missing father to suicide, that was a chok for everyone (also his family). We' will never know exactly why. I don't even think he knew. He planned it, wrote letters and sold some stuff. But he never wrote why he intended to do what he did.

Well that's completely sad. Sorry for your loss. Sorry to hear that.

But you're right though. Especially in this day and age of spit-polished, artificial social media personas, you don't know what demons someone is battling inside sometimes. Sometimes you'll never know.

The whole Taconic State Parkway crash being a classic example of maybe you'll never know what demons lurk in some people:

You followed through on your premixed shot stuff or whatever it was? :D

I got to watch Nets before you :D
It's pretty boring, though. People are only loud, when the halftime dancers are on.
Not sure if that's a good or bad thing :D. Me and one of my friends are playing each other this week in fantasy basketball and we both own someone on each team, so it made it A LOT more exciting . Still a lot better than baseball, though.

You set the bar real high there.

What I do like about baseball is that these guys in no way, shape or form resemble professional athletes, yet they consume steroids like crazy.
