It's a myth that you have to spend 3 hours to make a decent meal. So people fall into the laziness trap into slapping prepared meat on two slices of bread because they lack any original thinking or the patience to make something decent.

And even if you do spend a couple hours to make a lasagne (it's more wait time than anything), you can reheat it for days. Then you have a civilized, adult meal -- and are not just consigning yourself to something you eat standing up in line at a gas station like a peasant.

You are making zero sense and taking your argument to an extreme. Buttered toast has zero to do with anything. And why the does it matter if you can eat it while standing? As Nzoric says, just because the food is between two pieces of bread doesn't mean it's bad. It depends on what's in the sandwich and the bread ffs. The same way a lasagna isn't necessarily a good meal.

I've had some pretty good sandwiches, but nothing great.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of pizza, though.

It's a good step up from a sandwich, but comes up short compared to a proper meal, in my book.
