That said, I think a soda tax is perfectly reasonable. If fat fucks want to drive up my health care cost, the least they could do is pay a little extra to fix pot holes or buy books.

Yeah, 8 liters of cola a day is kind of a standard diet plan for some folks. But when you start crying to me that if I don't draw the line before soft drinks then restaurants and supermarkets might charge me to make up for the revenue loss anyway, you're just playing stupid scare tactics and now I'm pissed and your measure is going down.

Which says nothing about all the bellyaching that SF's cost of living is skyrocketing ... as if soda taxes will force the poverty line down a few grand.

Not to mention that some of those 8-liters-a-day junkies might actually be people who are keeping my health care costs up.
