Sure, but this wasn't at work. Like the quote in the article: "Most employers wouldn't dream of following their staff down the pub to see if they were sounding off about work to their friends."
But it's there. It's archived, for everyone to see. That's not the same thing as a casual remark soon forgotten, of which there is no record. I'm not saying this particular case is justified, but facebook is more than people realize.

That's true. I guess it doesn't work for me because my social life, family life and work life and three completely different things and could not possibly be let to mix.

True that. I guess people should be careful about adding their employers or coworkers from now on :D

If I met someone I thought was amazing, and they were on Facebook, I wouldn't see them again. I think its childish, pathetic, and I don't think most men can handle it. When I talk to someone and they tell me they aren't on there, I instantly like them more.

But you can't leave. They won't delete you. Or maybe they will after a few months and a bunch of hoops. You are there forever, you are trusting them to own you forever. And anyway, you are hooked by then.

Out of curiosity, how often do you meet amazing people? Cause it seems to me they are very rare.

Exactly, it's just like inviting the boss to your poker game. Suddenly he has a pipeline into your casual life. It's not without risk. What's worse, you don't get rid of it easily. Once you add someone it makes a gesture to explicitly remove them. These links don't expire on their own, as they do in life. So if you think someone at work is great now, just consider that you could be paying the consequences well past the point where you don't like them as much anymore.
