The japs with their multiple forms of entertainment and food always get my vote
Chicago is amazing in some ways. They have a lot of great restaurants here in SF, but they almost all tend to the lean towards the local/organic/blah blah blah schtick. Which is a great schtick. But in Chicago I've had Thai food that's nothing like Thai food I've had anywhere else (
Arun's), I've had Mexican food unlike Mexican food anywhere else (
Topolobampo), and now I've had Japanese food that I've had nowhere else.
This ain't your father's sushi and tempura joint, that's fo' sure.
