Chicago is amazing in some ways. They have a lot of great restaurants here in SF, but they almost all tend to the lean towards the local/organic/blah blah blah schtick. Which is a great schtick. But in Chicago I've had Thai food that's nothing like Thai food I've had anywhere else (Arun's), I've had Mexican food unlike Mexican food anywhere else (Topolobampo), and now I've had Japanese food that I've had nowhere else.

This ain't your father's sushi and tempura joint, that's fo' sure.
