A bit of a rough patch between my mother-in-law undergoing chemo for her cancer and my wife (largely the only child of a single parent home) pretty much spending 90%+ of her time up there to care for her. I jokingly refer to her as my "estranged wife" now, but it's definitely family strain. You know what it's like when you've been dating someone a long time and then you break up, and suddenly you find yourself eating a lot of meals alone at home by yourself until you think, "Damn, I need to get out more again"? I'm pretty much there these days, and yet I'm married...

Otherwise, got a billionaire to cut a seven-figure check to invest in the start-up I'm spinning up, so things could be worse.

So my Uni has some bullshit concert at the end of the week, it is compulsory but we have to buy tickets to go to it. It will go from 6pm till god knows when. I am really tempted to just not go and then if questions are asked I will say that I had a family thing on. If I say it was a private matter they surely can't say shit, right?
