The way my coffee shop operated was that the supervisor of the shift was a part of the team and not extra to the team - ie. I couldn't leave the unit to do what I needed to do and manage my team - I had to be working with them all the time. Pissed me off so much and made the last few hours of my shift a nightmare dealing with all the paperwork, closing, cashing up & delivery by myself & doing all the cleaning becuase my staff were shit.
Sounds like it was a pain in the ass, I'm of the opinion that supervisor roles were established so that store managers could get away with delegating more of their own jobs to someone else, at least that's how it seems where I work?

is this Juventuz.se now? :D
 yeah, every thread I go into these days I'm getting a crash course in foreign languages:D

the way we worked wwas - Manager + 2 assistant managers + 1 senior team member. The senior team member was the person that got the delegated work - they covered the one shift a week that didnt have a manager and worked mornings to cover the manager when they had to go and do deliveries. I was one of the assistant managers and i worked late shifts with one other person (two if i was lucky)...the staff budget was ridiculous, we took £1500 on our late shift and they gave us £120 for staff :sergio: £150 on weekends.

Is it a well know coffee franchise per chance or just an independent setup? Sounds cheap as hell either way, so long as the top brass has their pockets lined they won't give damn how much pressure you would have been under.

At present the business I'm working for is undergoing a massive organisational reconstruction since it's in quite a bit of debt, means there'll be less hours available and the possibility of some redundancies. My new role will inevitably be that extra bit tougher but I'm still looking forward to the responsibility involved.

A franchise of Costa that operated from a motorway service station. The place is a fucking a joke.

Ah right, thankfully there's no coffee franchises like Costa or Starbucks where I live, I think they're completely overrated and there are some nice coffee shops here which would run this risk of being put out of business if one of those moved in

Nothing happened really. He is kosher or else they would not have let him into the building but I don't know why they are letting him just hang out under the staircase. Usually I wear skirts and had I worn one today all he had to do was look up and well I don't have to explain the rest. And it doesn't help that he looks completely creepy as well.

Why is there someone under the stairs at your workplace in the first, I am confuse?
Probably to fix the water feature under the stairs or something. He was just standing there hanging out doing absolutely nothing though. If he was waiting around the lobby is right next to the stair case he could have just sat in there the meantime. Maybe the view of legs was better from the staircase. :p

It's a jeans day in my office too. So no one will be looking up my skirt either.
Nice. ;)
