I don't get where this mistranslation has come from, im not picking on you specifically - my gf does it too, in the UK Pissed = drunk & Pissed off = annoyed. When you say you're pissed i just think you mean you're drunk lol.

That because people who use 'pissed' instead of 'pissed off' do not know that 'pissed' means 'drunk' and thus saying 'pissed' will convey the message of being 'pissed off'.
