My dad's family going way back are from Srinagar and my mom's biggest dream is to visit Jaipur...which she would've if it wasn't for the damn Mumbai attacks back in '08 (she had to cancel plane tickets and hotel reservations).

What is the fascination with those places? I've been 2-3 times and its ok but nothing spectacular.

Well Kashmir is described as Heaven on Earth and compared to Switzerland. Jaipur is an historic city and from what I saw on Anthony Boirdain's show its looks pretty bad ass with its city built within old city walls. Goa from what I've heard is a party city and architecturally influenced by the Portuguese.
