They passed the protection of state information bill. The bill criminalises possession and publication of classified information & punishes journalists(including whistle blowers) with up to 25 years in prison, if espionage is involved.

The ruling party has had A LOT of their corrupt officials exposed & it's cost them a lot during elections. This is basically a move to cover their asses & to restrict the publics knowledge of their corrupt activities.
