Was woken up today by my neighbor yelling at her dogs. This is what I call an optimist. "Who did that? Baaad!" I'm pretty sure you could grunt in the same tone of voice and the dogs would understand the same amount. This whole fantasy of dogs being intelligent is a complete anthropomorphic projection.
I don't know, mine was pretty smart about things like that. She once ate 2 six packs of blueberry bagels off of the counter when we were out; when we came home, instead of running to the door as she always did, she was nowhere to be seen. My mum said "Uh oh, what'd you do?" and she just walked slowly downstairs with her head down and sat in front of my mother with the saddest face. They know ;)

Interesting you say that considering dogs have been observed to be able to interpret up to 100 words or phrases and retain them throughout their lives...

Stop hating on the doggies

100 words, you see that is a lot more concrete than "they are intelligent". But it's a very low measure of intelligence. If you had a son and I told you he could only learn 100 words over his lifetime you'd be a little sad.

If you tell me which of the 100 I can use to say "stfu and stop barking you imbecile" then I will.

Just back from a blood test :/
Everything good?
