Sometimes it's good to dig into the musical cellar. I've been blown away this year digging into the back catalog of the long-deceased Slim Gaillard... from his swing jazz, improv, calypso, Spanish Flamenco, Cuban, and even Yiddish and Arabic influences. He was like a Cab Calloway with all the comedy but an insane variety of international styles.
