Brazilian right back Feliciano Edson's move to St Etienne has fallen apart after he missed his flight from Sao Paolo.

The defender has previously played for Guarani and Juventus (Sao Paolo) and was due to provide defensive cover after Fousseni Diawara moved to Sochaux.

Edson, 23, was due to travel to France on Thursday night in order to pen a six month loan deal after Corinthians agreed to transfer him to the Saints, but he was unable to get there in time after failing to catch his plane.

The transfer window expired and Edson remains in Brazil until the summer at least.
