Category: <b>Site</b><br><br>After a lot of hard work and dedication by yours truly and the team, the new Juventuz.com website is finally here! Huge thanks to the whole team, especially to Keith who's done all the code on the main site, we now have an excellent Content Management System custom made for the site, it will allow us to keep the site up to date very easily. Keith has also done the design of the site.

I'd also like to thank the rest of the team who has helped adding and updating the content, posted bug reports, left feedback and suggestions, and kept the inspiration up, so thanks once again to Zlatan, mikhail and swag. And of course, thanks to the previous Juventuz owner Martin Matusiak for having faith in me and handing over years hard work - blood, sweat and tears - to a complete stranger. I'll keep the torch burning, no worries. Juventuz.com is a great site with as a dedicated community and I'm proud to be a part of it. :)

So what's new?

New site design: Select from four different skins, check the drop-down menu on the right menu. Pick your poison. :)

<a href=http://www.juventuz.com>New forum software:</a> We've upgraded to the latest version of vBulletin, and it has lots of nice new features, and expect a hack or two in the near future to make Juventuz.com a great place for you to hang out. A hack that has been requested by a few people and that should be very interesting is vBookie, more about this in the forums. Jeeks has volunteered to be our master Bookmaker, so he'll setup all the bets. Thanks Jeeks. :) There are 4 different skins for the forums as well, you'll find them in your User Controlpanel, or in the forum footer on the left.

<a href=http://www.juventuz.com/stats/>Statistics:</a> We have a brand new online statistics center for team and players stats and it's quite informative, check it out <a href=http://www.juventuz.com/stats/>here</a>. It's based on Zlatan's great work (you might have seen his Excel attachment at the forum), and it will be updated after every game.

More features are coming shortly, such as an RSS feed and a nice gallery for pictures and videos. :)

I hope you will enjoy the new site as much as we have enjoyed creating it.

Best regards,

Marty

While I'm not thrilled that you basically nuked a large part of the site, I do of course agree that it needed pruning. At the end of the day, it's your place and you can do what you like with it.

But when it comes to the new look, graphics and css, may I say that you have done a fabulous job of it and turned out a very tasteful layout. While I liked the blue, this will finally appease those members screaming for more "Juventus-like" colors.

The one thing that makes me go "wait a minute" is the new statistics section. While I like statistics and frequently visit www.juventus1897.it for that reason, the very reason why I never wanted a stats section on Juventuz is that I found it too hard to find someone who would be enough of a no-lifer to actually dedicate themselves to keeping the stats up-to-date, while also being sufficiently disciplined to do the work regularly. Thus I wonder how far you will succeed in keeping it up-to-date without having to do it all yourself. Best of luck in any case!

Congrats on a job well done!!!

    Thanks boss. :)

Will work on adding the rest of the old content over time, it won't be nuked. Just hold your horses a little. ;) And I wouldn't say it's a lot of the content, most of the old content has in fact already been added to the site.

The statistics are very easy to update through our CMS so hopefully we'll keep that up to date.

I have a question, will there be any kind of 'help' post explaining the new features of the forum?

marty, nice job on the drop down menu when you click a users name. its little but very pleasing.

my only concern is that the new juventuz forum looks like a lot of other forums, but should get used to it pretty soon

Something is fishy, why does my nickname appear first on the Currently Active Users thingy, am i being watched :shifty:
Yeah it shows the nick of the person logged in first on the list. For example for me it shows me first in the list.

Nice work Marty! But being the computer illiterate that I am, it'll take some time to get used to all of this...

    Wanna hold my hand? :D

Good job Marty, the layout is clean and elegant. The threads are readable and the statisitics are great, thanks to you, Keith and above all Zlatan for his hard work.

    Thank you team.
