That's not really fair judging on only two matches. Besides, Arsenal always play shit against foreign clubs. Both play in very different roles, but I'd rather have Vieira in my team then Ballack.

Its the captain job to make the team play well, if they dont it is hugely Vieira's fault. He hasnt played well, and I wasnt judging him on 2 matches, Arsenal worst ever performance under Wenger (he admitted) was also against Bayern a few years before, I cant remember whether Ballack played for them or not, so perhaps its an unfair example.
But Vieira bottles it, all big games he bottles them, whether it be Premiership, FA Cup, Europe or for France he never does it. All I am saying is dont rely on him.

Vieira IMO, is the more complete Midfielder, he passes better and has a better Midfield positioning with excellent defensive play. His tackles are awesome. Technically better.
Ballack goes forward alot and finds good offensive positions, thats why he scores many goals, he has a good header + height and a magnificant shot (nedved type).
Still IMO, Ballack lacks the creativity to start a move while vieira's midfield presence is definate. Vieira the safer buy and the better value.
