Group C? It's a really really good group IMO. Colombia, Ivory Coast and Japan might not be world beaters but they are three good teams that can hold their own against most, and it's hard to tell who will be able to progress.
Not when Spain - Netherlands, Italy - England & Germany - Portugal - Ghana in the same groups.

England and Italy together, of course it had to be...dumb system. Can't imagine Woy is much looking forward to that one in Manaus, but the latter two being closer to base is ideal.

USA, unlucky lads.

US has a really tough group but knowing how inconsistent Portugal is, I wouldn't be surprised to see us get second. No one thought we'd get first in 2010 either.

And I hope Ghana gets no points at all. Fuck yea, USA!
I foresee deep penetration, anguish, and sorrow. Ronaldo looks hungry, the Germans will pulverize you, and Ghana will eat you raw. End result = USA going home in shame with 0 points to their name.

Groups B, D & G look the most interesting to me.

Ton of potential? Players like Del Piero and Totti had ton of potential. You could've seen back in the days while they still were breaking through the talent, the enormous talent which graced their every move on the field, foreseeing that truly great things lie ahead of them.

I'm gonna stop squashing your dreams now and we'll see in a few years how much of that potential will be realized.
I'm not saying he'll be as great as those two, but in the scope of today's young Italian talent, he has the most potential to be a great player. Balotelli could be but his skull is too thick, El Shaarawy is too one dimensional, and none of the others (Destro, Borini, Immobile etc) have impressed me as much. There's Berardi but he's too young to be considered in this generation.

It's not really fair to set the bar so high when players such as Del Piero & Totti are extremely rare.

Verratti.
